Dr. Kawan joined Bank ABC in June 1991. He was Group Legal Counsel until December 2009, when he was appointed Deputy Group Chief Executive. Dr. Kawan was appointed Group Chief Executive Officer of Bank ABC in October 2013. He represents the Bank ABC Group as Chairman of the Boards of Bank ABC Islamic and Arab Banking Corporation SA. He is also the Deputy Chairman of ABC International Bank plc, and has more than 30 years of banking experience.
Mr. Al Waary is the Deputy Group Chief Executive Officer of Bank ABC Group, with 30 years of banking, leadership and management experience garnered from the many senior positions he has held in both London and Bahrain.
Mr. Al Waary is Chairman of Arab Banking Corporation Jordan, Chairman of the Arab Financial Services Company B.S.C.(c), Chairman of ila Bank Advisory Board, Vice Chairman of Arab Banking Corporation Egypt, and Chairman of BLOM Bank Egypt (BBE).

Mr. Hopkins joined the Bank ABC Group in 2014 as Group CFO for the ABC Group, with responsibility for Finance, Strategy, Change Management, M&A, Balance Sheet Management, Taxation and Investor Relations. He has more than 30 years previous experience in the financial services sector, including periods with Standard Chartered Bank, Deloitte and Guardian Royal Exchange.
His previous senior roles at Standard Chartered Bank included Chief Executive Officer, Europe and Group Head, Strategy, Western Hemisphere. He is also a Director on the Board of Banco ABC Brasil.
Amr has over 26 years of corporate and investment banking experience. He worked at HSBC for 15 years, out of which seven were spent in Egypt as the Head of Global Banking, and the remainder in Dubai. His previous role was Managing Director, Deputy Head of Global Banking and Head of Corporate Banking MENAT.
Amr started his career by joining Commercial International Bank (CIB), where he worked for seven years, followed by four years at Ahli United Bank. Amr worked in different geographies including Egypt, UAE, Bahrain, Qatar and Kuwait.
Amr holds a master’s degree in Finance from Cass Business School in London and is a graduate of the American University in Cairo with a major in Economics and a minor in Political Science.
